Oppenheimer grants help improve hands-on learning
How much classroom instruction does $101,600 buy? That's exactly what Ted Oppenheimer has been determining the past few months. In January, his Oppenheimer Family Foundation awarded that amount to 68 Chicago public schools in the form of 75 grants to fund special, hands-on learning projects. This spring, Oppenheimer has visited many of the schools to review the funded projects as they reach their culmination.
